Say NO to 10,780 houses on the 30th November

Join us and the many other residents who do not want 10,780 new houses in the Borough. The protest will be held before the Full Council Meeting on Wednesday 30th November at 19.00 in front of the Council Offices, Easthampstead House.

The full council will be voting on the proposal to adopt the strategic plan which will swamp Binfield and Warfield with 1,000′s of houses and change once beautiful countryside into an urban sprawl from Bracknell. With good planning it is not necessary to build on open countryside to provide these new homes.

This will be a peaceful demonstration, but you can bring banners and make as much noise as you like to get this Council to listen.

Be there and help to protect the environment for your children and future generations.

i fully oppose the proposal to build additional houses at a time when the economy is in recession and the housing market is depressed  these homes will be surplus to requirements  and will blight the landscape

Please, please support the campaign.  We need to stand together at this time.  I cannot begin to imagine the damage that will be done by the additional traffic in the surrounding areas.

As a former Berkshire resident of 20 years, I am astounded by the housing proposals for Binfield. On my returns to my parental home in Binfield, I drive through Bracknell with its vacant offices. I have plenty of time to observe this as the traffic congestion issues in the area continue to deteriorate, a by product of previous housing developments.

So where is the infrastructure to support these housing development over the years? There is one new road (Harvest Ride), an old Binfield school built 25 years ago, no additional doctor’s surgeries and a trip to the nearest proper hospital will take an hour in rush hour. The Council should hang their heads in shame. They’ve taken the beautiful countryside away from Berkshire residents and given them nothing in the way of improved infrastructure.

Having been a resident for 8 years in Warfield, this is the first I heard about the plans, let alone any consultations going back to 2006, no one has told myself or anyone else I know, about this plans until now and that is only down to the action groups, it has been kept very quiet and for what reason, to provide the funding to the council for the town centre development scheme…..but we have paid for that I hear you say, well it seems not…. it’s all been lost!!
Hot off the press at the last meeting at the Warfield parish council (a council that didn’t represent one resident in its reply to the consultation, instead hung them out to dry) one of the council  planners admitted that the housing development would go ahead regardless of residents views, as without it the town centre would not be redeveloped, however now one thing is confusing residents, they were told over 6 years ago that council tax was rising much higher, compared to other councils, in order to pay for the redevelopment, so where then has all that money gone…have a guess…expenses claim form anyone……!
So from the horse’s mouth, we have now been told that despite paying extra and higher taxes in Bracknell for 6 years to pay for the town centre, there is no money left, that explains why nothing has happened in the town then……. However because of their  incompetence, residents must now lose a massive piece of beautiful countryside that is used for walks and to combat pollution whilst having spoilt views, they were benefits that residents all paid a premium for in our house purchases, this of course is not taking in account the high traffic congestion and 3 times more pollution it will cause for us and our children, so a double slap in the face for democracy and listening to those that voted for the council, whilst increasing health risks for our children who can’t protect themselves or have their own say.
Notwithstanding that, we are going to destroy the homes of thousands of animals, birds and wildlife creatures, on a planet we do not own or have a right to destroy, especially when there is no evidence to show we need housing around here or that it will be affordable(yes despite 100s of people asking for evidence of such a need in this area, no one has shown any evidence whatsoever)
Windsor has just blocked all of their building targets, so why can’t Bracknell…oh yes that’s because they spent all of the increased Bracknell council taxes for the last 6 years on…..well you know…..instead of teh town centre development, this action is totally unacceptable and the council need to be held to account, flood your MP’s mailbox with you views and have your say, you paid for it. Incidently was it a surprise that the whole of Warfield and Binfield got moved to the Windsor MPs constituency just before the plans and elections came out?
If the council don’t listen to residents then residents shouldn’t listen to the council, vote them out and then repel the plans!
