Cabbage Hill

I have a plan for Cabbage Hill:
To build some houses and instil
The need for things that no one wants
With scenic beauty forever lost.

Objections will be swept away
And dealt with on another day.

A thousand houses they will build
I cannot say Amen, but still
The party wants to see it through
And I must do what I’m told to do

For I am a Tory councillor
Elected fair and square
And I need not heed the wishes
Of those who put me there
