Online Blue Mountain plans deleted after accidental upload

Future plans to discuss an “education village” on the Blue Mountain Golf Course were hastily deleted from Bracknell Forest Council’s website earlier this month.

Eagle-eyed housing campaigners from Northern Arc Action Group (NAAG) contacted the Standard over the item which appeared on a forward plan for discussions by the council’s executive.

Consultation extended for Bracknell housing plans

The item briefly appeared in an agenda for the council’s executive for later this year, but was hastily removed shortly after the local residents began asking questions about its presence.

Local residents were outraged as it appeared the council was pressing ahead with the housing plans, despite the fact they have not yet been approved by a Government planning inspector.

The Standard contacted the council who said it was a mistake and that it should not have appeared.

A spokeswoman added the council could not discuss such items without the plans being approved first.

The council’s draft housing plan earmarks Blue Mountain to be used for a primary school, secondary school and special educational needs centre, as well as 400 houses and a 3,500 seat football stadium for Bracknell FC.
