FOR RESPONSIBLE HOUSING DEVELOPMENT
WHICH PROTECTS OUR COUNTRYSIDE AND VILLAGES
We the undersigned are extremely concerned about Bracknell Forest
Council's plans to build over 10,000 new homes up to 2026.
Our principal reasons for concern are:-
ENVIRONMENTAL DAMAGE would be extensive and permanent - 3000 houses are
proposed on green land, and a further 1000 on woodland with an estimated
loss of 20,000 trees.
VILLAGES would suffer irreparable damage to their traditional individual
identities through removal or erosion of green gaps separating built-up
areas and the resulting urban sprawl.
There would be a heavy negative impact on the local INFRASTRUCTURE,
especially on peak hour traffic and air pollution levels.
WE PETITION THE COUNCIL:
Not to adopt the Site Allocations DPD 'Preferred Option' in its present
To ask its planning officers to reconsider all the development sites
available, with the aim of minimising loss of green spaces, preserving the
gaps between individual communities and, in particular, prioritising and
vigorously pursuing the efficient re-use of existing long-term empty
buildings, especially in and around Bracknell town centre.
Please be advised that the petition will only accept one submission from the same email address. So please enter names jointly in the name box if only one email address exists.
Please do not sign here if you have already signed a paper petition and vice versa.
